Arlo and the Orca- happiness

Happiness

Happiness sounds like laughing

Feels like fun

Like a pure and happy life

Refreshing, clear, sweet

Cheerful laughter on a sunny day

Doing things you like

Happiness smells like a strong sweet flower

Like, YAY, WOOHOO;

Joy in your heart

A large grin

Birthday cakes

Laughter

Like summer

Happiness is about being who you are and having fun with friends and family.

Today’s poem is not just about happiness, it’s also about peoples’ feelings and how they’re getting their hopes up. We hope to see Stacey and Monique again and how lovely and generous they are.

Arlo and the Orca- sadness

 Sadness

Crying

Cold tears dripping on your face

Water and cold air

Crying

Tears running down your face

Like a cold gust of wind

You are no one

Tears dropping out of your eyes

Into the ocean

Salty tears

Huhuhuhu

You’ve had enough

Crying salty tears and sweat

Pitter feeling of guilt, depression and regret

Sadness is bloom, a rainy day

This poem is dedicated by Rm 8 and would love to post it on the blog for Stacey and Monique and would love to thank them for coming to our school to present Arlo and the Orca.

Arlo and the Orca

A collaborative poem written by all room 8. This poem expresses our feelings about Anger looking through the eyes of Arlo from Arlo and the Orca by Monique Walker.

Anger

Anger feels like letting your rage out

A clenched fist

Blood coma salty sweat

Growling and yelling

Rough and hot

Like a red face

Anger smells like danger

Like air

Shouting and screaming

Painful and hurtful

Madness and crazy actions of destructions

Like smoke

Burning cold

A fire raging and growing limitlessly

Anger is an emotion we want to show or not

It starts when we get upset about something

This week Monique and Stacey came to class and presented Monique’s book. We learnt that it is OK to cry and that life can be a moody and stormy of emotion but to remember the sun will always come back and shine.

THANK YOU Monique and Stacey for coming into our school to read Monique’s book and how you told us that there’s always hope in us, we would like to thank Catherine and Jesse for that beautiful and lovely dance.

Rm 8 memories.

My classmate

are kind, comforting, annoying, funny, mean, super weird, interesting and chaotic.

Wild but silent

loving but hilarious.

I will miss, Ms George

my classmates and teachers.

They have talents and skills,

really amazing and smart.

The memories with my friends,

are funny, annoying, hilarious and unpredictable.

They’re too loud especially (Daniella)

They are so kind

Hardworking and people who strive to do their best.

They’re definitely something.

Diary entry (3)

It is my first day at school

which is kind of cool,

I entered the gate

my time awaits.

I stood in front of the class

which made my day last,

A wonderful teacher

I felt I could reach her.

As I was walking near the classroom feeling nervous,

the teacher said “I’m at your service.”

Meeting  new friend

His  laughter helps me mend

Home sweet home we’re finally free.

My siblings agree.

I smell fresh air,

that’s what I care.

Feeling  sad, depressed and not like I have won

I am still  thankful for what my parents have done

(1) Diary Entry

In the dead of the night,

while the stars shine bright,

I hear my mother’s voice

with a lot of noise.

“It’s time to pack up” my mother said,

her voice trembling non stop with dread.

I packed my clothes with terror and fright,

holding up my tears until daylight.

I exited the door and entered the bus,

people gossiping, making a fuss.

Leaving our house which made me frown,

saying goodbye to our dearest home town.
